NLP 3 and the rules on how TO
CREATE RAPPORT |
|
The first rule of
rapport: be alike! |
|
|
|
Being approved
builds the basis to continue dialogue. Of course, "to
mirror" does not mean "to ape". If our
converser is nervously fretting their foot, I can shake my
hand to its own rhythm. If the subject changes their
posture, I'll follow them in their new one; of course we
won't do that immediately; if they are talking, I'll expect
their speech to end and when I start talking I will change
my posture modelling myself to the subject. Being mirrored
means that if the person I face lifts their left arm up, I
have to lift my right arm up, as if they are in front of a
mirror. After resembling our converser as a mirror for some
time, you'll notice this time they will follow your posture.
This means you have established the right wavelength. Have
you ever noticed how lovers behave? Their posture is
unconsciously in perfect accordance, it is like they are
performing a "ballet". We can go and artificially
build a similar situation and when we have established a
Rapport, our converser will be very inclined to satisfy our
requirements. |
